Message from the President

arlanAs you open this, we are opening another new year.  We hope you had a blessed Christmas season and wish for you a happy and successful 2016.  The Owatonna Arts Center closed out 2015 with a number of Christmas activities and with good feelings about the operation for the year.  Two major decisions were made during the last two months.  We appointed Otilia Johnson as the Administrative     Assistant and Tara Volkmann as the Education Coordinator.  The Education Coordinator position is partially funded by a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council.  This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.  We are excited and pleased to have Otilia and Tara with us.

The building addition is moving along nicely.  As of this writing, it is almost all enclosed.  Once enclosed, progress will be moving forward without Mother Nature interrupting.  We still anticipate completion sometime in April.  Plans are being discussed to determine how best to showcase this addition to the contributors and the public at large.

Please check other areas of the website for upcoming events.  The winter season is a great time to take in some of the activities provided for you.  Check the dates for any of these events and mark them down.  We hope to see you at some of them.

Thanks to all of our members for their support.  This is a great time to encourage your friends and neighbors to consider membership in OAC.  We are getting good feedback on our activities and that is thanks to you.
